These Japanese imports have the same slanted (tilted) dial which Swiss-made Interapid indicators have been known for since the 1950's. They also make two revolutions in either direction from zero. Unlike the Interapid indicator, these do not require the 13 degree contact point angle when taking measurements. A one-piece plastic bezel and crystal is easy to replace by the end-user when it's damaged. Although the plastic makes them look a bit cheap, these indicators are accurate and respond well when new. Since many Interapid test indicator models are temporarily unavailable because of manufacturing difficulties, you may want to consider one of these Mitutoyo models instead. If you're curious how they compare to other brands then see page 37 for more information. Replacement bezels as well as carbide contact points are available. For holders and stem attachments see page 59. |
