Swiss made dial test indicators: sales and repairs

Manufactured in Switzerland, this Brown & Sharpe product is one of the best test indicators available. Don't be fooled by Japanese and Chinese imitations. It's compact and has excellent repeatability. The black dial and orange hands have practically become a trademark for this gage. It's hard to imagine a better measuring instrument.

Model 7030-5 shown above

Why are the black dials less expensive? Because they come with fewer accessories. You'll get a 1/4" diameter stem holder and a plastic box. Other holders and accessories are available on page 36. Other contact points (carbide, ruby) are available on page 21.

Repairs

Long Island Indicator is an authorized repair shop for Bestest indicators. You are welcome to send any Bestest indicator to us for a free evaluation. If you believe that the indicator is covered under warranty, please include a copy of the invoice to verify purchase date.

Spare parts are available and repairs can effectively be made on any of these indicators. Our fixed repair cost is $69 for all Bestest models. This includes labor and all parts (except a new carbide contact point which costs $12 extra).

It's our policy to replace all damaged or worn parts necessary for the full function of the indicator. This way you'll be sure to get an instrument that's as good as new and one you can rely on. If you use a credit card for payment, turn-around is less than one week.

And, if you ask for it, we'll provide you with a short-form certificate of calibration free with every indicator repair. After all, when your instrument comes back, you need to know that it's accurate.

Do you only want the crystal replaced? That'll be $20 and it includes return shipping.

Why buy from us?

Why buy from us? You can probably get it a few dollars cheaper at Penn Tool, MSC or J&L Industrial. But, if you buy from us you'll help support a small family business. There's tough competition out there. No one's getting rich here. As an incentive we'll let you know about this special deal:

Free Crystal Replacement

Crystals get scratched, discolor or crack for one reason or another, but here's good news: if you bought the Bestest or Tesatast test indicator from us, we'll install a new crystal free if it ever needs one. Here are the details:

  • It's a Bestest or Tesatast test indicator
  • You bought it from Long Island Indicator Service and you can prove it
  • We'll give you a one-time free crystal replacement for whatever reason
  • For as long as you own the gage
  • At the simple cost of $12 for shipping and handling
