Long Island Indicator is a repair service for all mechanical Starrett dial indicators, test indicators, micrometers, and calipers. With a large selection of spare parts always in stock we can offer quick and reliable repair service on many Starrett gages. There are machinists who only function correctly when they have a Starrett tool in their hands. It's the cup of coffee and bowl of Wheaties of the American manufacturer. Indicators, dial calipers and micrometers manufactured by this venerable Made-in-USA institution have served many a machinist and tool maker from novice to First-Class. Many Starrett models have the distinction of undergoing very few, if any, changes over the decades. This means that usually even the oldest gages can be economically repaired because parts are still available. Your granddad's Last Word Indicator can be reconditioned to "like-new" with no difficulty. We'll do it for $69 and that includes parts and labor. You'll also get a free short form certificate of calibration on request. The repair of dial calipers is labor intensive. All the measuring surfaces are lapped flat and parallel and the instrument is returned to full function. Our fixed rate charge is $59 for the 6" model, which includes labor and all parts. Similarly, Starrett micrometers are refurbished to meet the manufacturer's original specifications. The carbide anvils are lapped flat and parallel. Repair prices start at $69.
