PROFESSIONAL REPAIRS & SALES IN THE U.S.A. SINCE 1959
We are proud to be a Brown & Sharpe and TESA worldwide certified service partner
Right off the bat, we don't want to mislead you into thinking that we can repair Digitmatic indicators. We can't. Your best bet is to return these to Mitutoyo's own service department where you will get excellent results. If you send an old model, they may even offer you a generous discount on a replacement.
Mitutoyo is unquestionably the leader in innovative digital gages, including these digital "drop" indicators. Being innovative means they also change the designs quite regularly although sometimes the model numbers are changed on purpose to confuse the Chinese who are always ready to produce imitations.
When buying Mitutoyo, make sure you get the latest models and avoid any old models or suspiciously inexpensive models.
Also, buy from a reputable Mitutoyo dealer, of which there are many. If you aren't sure, you can always call Mitutoyo to find one in your area.
Amazon is actually one of the Mitutoyo dealers and provides authentic gages. If you will click "check price" below, you will be presented with Amazon's information on these gages and you are welcome to place an order. They have very good return policies if something goes wrong and you can often get free shipping, as well as the best discounts.
There was a time when we pooh-poohed the idea of digital indicators, but not anymore. This reliable Mitutoyo Digimatic indicator is the way to go digital. Simple in design and simple to use; yet, it still offers full SPC output capabilities should you ever need it.
Like its more complex relatives, it switches easily between inch and metric and it remembers its origin settings for the length of the battery life. It uses an SR44 battery, by the way, which is good for about 20,000 hours of use. (That's over 2 years of continual use. I asked Siri.)
And, it easily switches to reverse reading if you need to measure depth.
When choosing a model, there are two things to consider:
And, if you will be using SPC output, you will need to get a cable. More about that down the page.
