Mitutoyo measures their contact points from the pivoting point to the center of the ball. This makes it difficult to figure out what's what. To make it easier, we've included, in parentheses below, the length (L) from the shoulder above the threads to the center of the ball. These points are for current models with M1.7 threads.

Important Note: there was an older, obsolete, model of 513 indicators that had M1.4 threads. Those points are no longer available from us.
