Image

Point micrometers (both mechanical and digital) have anvils and spindles "designed to measure the web thickness of drills, small grooves, keyways and other hard to reach dimensions."

  • narrow 15° measuring point with approximately .012" radius
  • broader 30° measuring point with approximately .012" radius
  • carbide measuring tips remain accurate longer
  • ratchet stop, the same as other micrometers
  • micrometers larger than 0-1" come with a setting standard
  • plastic storage case and zero-adjustment wrench included
  • digital models easily switch between inch and metric

Product Description (provided by the manufacturer):

The Mitutoyo 112 series point micrometer has a pointed spindle and anvil for measuring grooves and keyways, a vernier scale in inch units graduated to 0.001” for taking precise outside diameter (OD) measurements and a ratchet-stop mechanism for uniform pressure during adjustment. The micrometer’s frame has a baked enamel finish. The spindle and anvil are made of hardened steel or carbide for durability. A spindle lock helps provide secure locking of the measurement position. The micrometer comes with a plastic case for storage.
