Compac JET Type Dial Indicator
good quality economic Swiss made metric indicator

The Compac JET indicators have been around for more than 50 years and they're still among the best of the economy models. They have the same hardened stainless spindle as other Compac indicators and this means that the teeth on them won't bend or break. This gives you longer lasting accuracy than any other indicator on the market.

  • Adjustable and removable tolerance markers
  • M2.5 thread contact point with 3 mm diameter ball insert (other points are available, see page 133)
  • 8 mm diameter stem
  • Flat back (other types of backs are available, see page 61)
  • Does not have a bezel lock
  • Cardboard storage box
  • Serial number
  • Inspection report with declaration of conformity

  • Model 313K discontinued. Replaced by Mercer 01412010
  • Model 314AK discontinued. Replaced by Compac 354A
  • Model 513AK discontinued. Replaced by Mercer 01426021(see page 170)

About Compac JET indicator repairs

These indicators were designed as "throw away" indicators. They may have been the first of their kind... certainly decades earlier than any of the Asian models that have now flooded the market.

They are a cheaper version of the regular Compac models because they don't have shock-proof movements and don't have a bezel clamp. Not to worry: the bezel is held in place by a friction spring and you won't have to worry about its spinning wildly out of control.

In effect, repairs are not going to be economically feasible. Never-the-less, there are some user replaceable parts, such as the bezel, the crystal, the contact point, etc. which you can probably install yourself. See page 72 for a list of spare parts which we have in stock.
