Here's our chance to buy something made in U.S.A.
L.S.Starrett is without question the steel rule champion with a mind-numbing array of styles and lengths. We offer two other contenders below. (By all means, check out the Starrett online catalog. It's impressive and well worth a visit.)
Tempered, rigid (non-flexible) steel rulers. There are four scales, two on each side. Where both systems are included, this allows for quick switching between inch and metric. Rules with just metric divisions means you don't have to turn the ruler over to find the correct graduations, making it a convenient time saver.
These solid, high quality steel rulers are still made in the USA and sold under several different brand names, including Brown & Sharpe, and Fowler. As with all steel rules, the readings are guaranteed accurate at room temperature (20 degrees Celcius / 68 degrees Farenheit).
